Somehow, I 've acquired a few very conservative Facebook friends. I find some of their comments mean-spirited, ill-informed and sometime vicious. Yet I'm glad we're Facebook friends. I'll reflect on how we communicate across these prickly barriers.

On a day filled with pomp and circumstance, when our congregation will ordain a new minister later in the day, we pause to consider the grand aspiration liberal religion professes. We wonder how people such as we are able to advance a religious practice that hopes to save the world.
